There are lot of beautiful and interesting places to visit near the hotel. Here are named some of the highlights, for more information click on the name of the place.

Hiking trails right outside the back door.  Hikes in the Eyjafjöll Mountains, from 1 hour to day long

Seljalandsfoss (12 km).  A 40m-high waterfall that it is possible to walk behind. Pure magic!

Žórsmörk (35 km).  Valley glaciers with interesting and easily accessible glacial features, such as moraines, and pure Icelandic forest.  Beautiful views of Eyjafjallajökull.

Westmann Islands (25 km).  Offshore volcanic islands where an eruption in 1973 partly destroyed the fishing town there.  Ferry from Landeyjahöfn.

Seljavellir (12 km).  A geothermal swimming pool built into a rock face at the foot of the glacier Eyjafjallajökull.

Skógar (16 km).  Skógafoss, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland.  Hiking trails to Fimmvöršuhįls and Žórsmörk, and to Landmannalaugar via the Laugavegur route.

Sólheimajökull (25 km).  A deeply crevassed glacier tongue.  Guided glacier hikes.

Vķk (45 km).  Vast expanses of volcanic sand at Mżrdalssandur, and cliffs and black-sand beaches at Vķk, Reynisfjara and Dyrhólaey.  Seabird colonies at Dyrhólaey, Vķk and the Westmann Islands
